Antweiowe had a meeting last month on the role of the legislative branches together and directing your role in sacramento and there was a bunch of process improvements leading up to that hearing and im very pleased that you are here in person thank you for making the trip on short notice from sacramento in the middle of a very active legislative session in our state capitaland i want to thank mrs nicole wheatonelliott. And her staff for the work that with a have done and were now getting minutes from the Legislation Committee that we have been in endeavoring here at the board regarding pieces of state legislation to get them in your hand in our clerk has been giving them to use so thats been a resolution on our part and i want to give an opportunity for the public is watching as well as my colleagues to get to know youre in person it was a pleasure to get to meet know you over a bowl of soup i confess i am sick and have a fever so thank you for humorin
Budget budget to loot and invest in ways that reflect our San Francisco values my budget submissions and the boards deliberations in the coming weeks it city halls way to menu our priorities our city is facing challenges we cant deny that neighborhood crime is up and homelessness is visible and preying concern, the need for reform in our Police Department is evident i hear from resident about those issues they want safe and clean neighborhoods they want us to address homelessness they address it in a humane way 2 respect San Franciscos values and want worldclass City Services well, this budget addresses those needs it invests in answers to homelessness and housing, that invests in Police Reforms and Pedestrian Safety and quality of life in our neighborhoods and the wellbeing of our people were using this unique time to make the lives of all the residents and the city stronger homelessness is a top priority we all know that there are far too of people on the street in fact, in and aroun
Additional visitors were having the next few weeks, what we just had, in open world and [inaudible] quite a few people in the city and we need to of course keep them all safe thank you for making sure that your roles are played out on everything from the streets to the events, to being ready and the responses. That is going to obviously help be helpful to both our economy but also to the people that are invited here. I also want to let you know that there is, and we are monitoring, a fire in moccasin in the areas that are close enough to our water facilities, upping hetch hetchy to pose a potential threat, so we do have a very large Something Like almost 900 acre wildfire thats going on good that has the potential of affecting so we moderate that. California fire is the incident command there in all the different agencies including the state, are there to respond and begin the attempts to fight this fire, but as you have readily known, many of our firefighters are often very difficult

Onondaga, there have been homeless encampments there on the build, theres been people squatting inside the building as of last year, the corner building and its also a part of the commercial corridor in district 11 that were trying desperate toy to bring up to viability and economic viability, weve made some really good improvements close by on that corner, but you know, being able to activate vacant buildings is going to be a major part of our effort to bring Economic Vitality to this part of San Francisco. And, clearly, we look at ways that San Francisco outside of district 11, outside of the southern neighborhoods have faired during our economic boom, weve seen a complete transformation of partser of the city, that hasnt happened in district 11 and thats really why i brought it forward, this supplemental, to help level the Playing Field for district 11 to see that we can get, while were having this boom, some of the wealth the citys been able to generate to come into our neighborhoo
