Clay County COVID-19 Positivity Rate Drops Below County Mask Mandate Requirement By mmcwilliams February 23, 2021 11:54 am Saga Communications Spencer, IA (KICD) Tuesday morning, the Clay County Board of Supervisors heard a COVID-19 update from Colette Rossiter with Clay County Public Health. Rossiter says that Clay County’s positivity rate has dropped to under the 5% rate minimum for the County Mask Mandate. Art Hamrick, the Board Chair, says if that rate remains under 5% for two Sundays, they can begin looking at lifting the mandate. Clay County Public Health also says Osceola, O’Brien, Cherokee, Buena Vista, Pocahontas, and Emmet Counties have also reported positivity rates of under 5% as well.

Four COVID-19 Related Deaths Reported Locally January 2, 2021 11:13 am clipart.com Des Moines, IA (KICD)– The Iowa Department of Public Health is reporting 709 new cases of COVID-19 across the state as of 11 a.m. Saturday taking the pandemic total to more than 283 thousand cases and 3,946 deaths. Locally, the largest increase is in Buena Vista County with 39 new cases followed by seven in Cherokee County, six in Kossuth, three in Palo Alto County, a single case each in Clay, Dickinson and Emmet Counties and no change in O’Brien, Osceola or Pocahontas Counties. Three additional virus-related deaths were reported in Emmet County with one fatality in Clay County.
