First, background on the two candidates in alphabetical order. Emily cain moved to maine from new jersey with her family at 17, studied at the music at the university of maine and holds a masters degree from the Harvard Graduate School of education. In 2004 she was elected to the maine house and rose to the chair of the appropriations committee, then minority leader in 2010.
