The Australian Government is delivering $32.1 million in new funding to trial new programs to increase biodiversity on farms.
Minister for Agriculture, Drought and Emergency Management David Littleproud said this investment extends opportunities to reward farmers for biodiversity stewardship and comprises:
• $22.3 million to deliver a pilot program to protect and manage existing high value native vegetation

The funding includes $10 million for Regional Forestry Hubs, $1 million for a feasibility study into an Australia-wide National Institute for Forest Products Innovation and delivery of Plantation Development Concessional Loans.
The Australian Government is providing $12.7 million in this Budget to support continued growth and innovation in Australia’s forestry industry.
Minister for Agriculture, Drought and Emergency Management David Littleproud and Assistant Minister for Forestry and Fisheries Jonno Duniam said the investment would support existing and new Regional Forestry Hubs and improve the forestry industry’s research and development capacity.

The Morrison-McCormack Government is backing Australian farmers to help secure Australia’s recovery, committing around $850.0 million in funding to drive competitiveness, growth and resilience in agriculture and back-in the industry’s goal of $100 billion by 2030.
Minister for Agriculture, Drought and Emergency Management David Littleproud said the initiatives announced in the 2021-22 Budget align with the themes identified through the Government’s Delivering Ag2030 plan, including:
Federal Government to boost biosecurity, land management and workforce issues for agriculture industry
The Australian government has committed around $850million in funding in an attempt to drive competitiveness, growth and resilience in the agriculture sector.
In the Federal Budget, handed down on Tuesday night, the government announced a Delivering Ag2030 plan, which is aimed at supporting the industry s goal of $100 billion farmgate value by 2030.
Among the measures of the plan: $400.1 million to strengthen biosecurity, $32.1 million to extend opportunities to reward farmers for the stewardship of their land, $29.8 million to grow the agricultural workforce and $129.8 million to deliver a National Soils Strategy, to help improve farm yields and increase productive capacity.
