Two weeks ago, the Committee Heard from state and local officials about how the Trump Administrations failure to respond to the pandemic has harmed their communities and our nation. We invited fema administrator peter gaynor to that hearing, but he declined to attend based on white house guidance prohibiting administration witnesses
Governor grisham we are working on a system that respects the instructions to stay at home. Its very clear about social distancing but we want to provide direct updates and today is an opportunity to do things a little bit differently. It will take a little longer. I really believe that the benefits of this kind of conversation with everyone in new mexico who has the opportunity to do now or later will be incredibly beneficial because in fact, we are all in this together. We will do a format that starts about where we are so you will get a case update from me. I want to talk about what we have done, kind of an accomplishment so you get a sense that things are happening all the time. And are still doing what to expect, what is the next several weeks or months and what to they look like and how do we know that . And also in terms of our response to the safety and wellbeing of people with disabilities. We have also, this month, as denise mentioned, welcomed our new Council Members. And i my personal opinion about pg es efforts to get information out is i havent known them to be particularly robust and so im wondering who is monitoring pg es approach to this . Is that your responsibility . How do we make sure theyre going to accomplish what they claim theyre going to accomplish in a comprehensive way . Our responsibility and ill speak for the larger Emergency Management Community Working with all of our partners. Working with nicole. So when the California Public Utilities Commission is doing their rulemaking process, we have made explicit requests that theyre going to be notifying individuals on their data bases, although as jan mentioned there are limitations to that.
