Were seeing video that appears to show at least some of the passengers from that hijacked plane being released on the tarmac in cyprus. The plane landed there just before 9 00 local time. As to how many passengers have been released, there is not much clarity at this point. Local media in cyprus is saying that the hijacker or hijackers agreed to release all the women and children on board. Theyre saying that 30 to 40 people have been released. Other media is reporting that 56 people have been released. Weve also heard this morning saying that everyone on board has been released with the exception of the cabin crew and four to five passengers. The Reuters News Agency is reporting that there were ten american citizens and eight british citizens on board. We cant ind pendly confirm this to do so.
