Valencia has been a constantly evolving roadway. The first bike lanes were striped in 1999, and today is the major north and south bike route from the Mission Neighborhood extending from market to mission street. It is difficult to navigate lindsay on a daily basis, and more specifically, during the morning and evening commute hours. From 2012 to 2016, there were 260 collisions on valencia and 46 of those were between vehicles and bikes. The mayor shows great leadership and she knew of the long history of collisions and the real necessity for safety improvements on the streets, so she actually directed m. T. A. To put a pilot of protected bike lanes from market to 15th on valencia street within four months time. [ ] valencia is one of the most used north south bike routes in San Francisco. It has over 2100 cyclists on an average weekday. We promote bicycles for everyday transportation of the coalition. Valencia is our mission fits our mission perfectly. Our members fall 20 years ago to
I just want to really acknowledge the team that really have pushed this forward quickly on this project. First of all , david wilkin sos has been our consultant from Northern California Community Loan fund. Thank you, david. Thank you for helping me understand this weave of stuff and so forth. Leading the way to make sure that we anchor the new market tax credit that we needed for the project is the city of San Francisco and the San Francisco Community Investment fund, or as we call it sfif. Without them jumping in and p putting their projestamp on thi project, i dont know if othes s would have joined as easily. We just wareally want to thank e sfif for supporting us. Along side of the sfif, San Francisco sfif was california loan fund who in vvested with u early as well. The group that put us over the top is an Organization Called Community Impact partners which is more of a National Partner and they came in to push us forward as well. Votes. Once that is completed it will be on the ballot in november. This is really incredible given in 2015, when we had our last housing bond, it was 310 million dollars. The amount has doubled, thats really exciting. We have also talked about putting Affordable Housing in the citys capital plans. We are really planning for Affordable Housing needs as part of our overall city needs and that we are accounting for that every 45 years. When we have expanded the bond proceeds that we are in q4 coming back for the voters to fund the Affordable Housing needs that we have two meet what our residents need. The bond will Fund Acquisition construction improvement, rehabilitation and preservation and repair of Affordable Housing. The bond funding will further our offices work in meeting the need for the population of people that we care about, including persons with disabilities. It would do so by providing the funding that we need to build out all of our new construction Affordable Housing. Tho
One part of a larger effort. The county department of social services sent some money over to the department of aging saying, how about you help with targeting folks 60 and over. And do an allocation base throughout the state and come up with 66,000 which comes down to us, which is to be used to target older adults, 60 and over , solely recognizing that six a 6,000, and the grand scheme, is not the largest amount of money, but we hope to at least cover some staff time to support the much larger coordinated effort. One other question, what would you see as being successful at the end of the day if we were able to in role tenth out able to unroll 10,000 . They are asking us to meet a couple of targets with these funds, and their two categories. There is an outreach category, how many people do we send this information to . Tamika moss spear headed the effort. I remember a couple years back when we discovered we had empty Public Housing units. We worked with thenmayor ed lee to come up with 200 million to rehabilitate those units.
