Wind advisory coming up. Two separate Traffic Alerts. Traffic is tough on the east shore freeway. On the westbound connector working your way into the maze the number two mac lane is blocked for an injury accident with traffic taking up into berkeley. A busy right. You will see slow and go conditions as you get the bay bridge. The Traffic Alert is westbound 580 at 35th street with a major injury accident. I just got new information. The two right lanes blocked until further notice and they are running traffic breaks to ease the traffic heading through their. It is slow and go and traffic is building quickly. They say the outage could go on five days or longer. The outage impacts Rural Communities and also includes downtown areas. Reporter good morning. There is no power at this church where evacuees have been told to go. You can see people are gathered around candles and have flashlights. The red cross is here providing blankets, food and coffee. With me i have one of the evacuees, eric, you said your family was asleep and he woke up you live in this neighborhood that had to be evacuated. What happened . We were fast asleep. We went to sleep early because of the blackout. There was really nothing much to do besides go to sleep. My mom who lives next door came banging on the door and she has a key so she came in and said wake up. Weve got to go. There is a fire. We have to evacuate. So we got dressed in a little bit of a panic. We werent sure what to take and in the end we just left. Reporter did you see the fire or smell the smoke . Smell the smoke when we went outside. We are particularly gratified and happy to have the secretary of Education Betsy Devos with us, her husband, Council President Kellyanne Conway. Its an honor to have them here for this discussion on a topic that is particularly important to ai and our Education Policy Team led by rick s area and were also pleased to have , i like to say that ai is a washington based think tank but we are not a washington focused think tank so we have three distinguished leaders around the country from tennessee to arizona and pennsylvania and they will talk about how some of these issues were talking about in washington to parents and schools in those parts of the country. Really thats what our discussion is all about. How can we make our schools better read a little bit about just to get a sense of how i come to this is
