there s probably a mile wide tornado on the ground. we had thought it was south of interstate 40, and latest radar pictures show it closer to interstate 40. the town of yukon becoming more under the gun from this. moore may be a little less under the gun, but i m not willing to say that yet. anybody from edmond down to moore, you need to be watching. shepard: yukon, mustang, the entire region is under alert right now. it s 31 minutes past the hour, and we are going to have new information from storm chasers in just a second. want to take a quick commercial break in our live team fox coverage, we will continue after this. using stereoscopic cameras and even stop itself if it has to. the technology may be hard to imagine. but why you would want it
additional rotation around el reno that saw this a few minutes ago. yukon right now getting it and this, looking at tñis point like it s heading directly toward oklahoma city. because it is such a large storm and because there are multiple tornados within it, i am not confident at all to say that moore is moore, oklahoma, that was hit last week, is out of the woods of this. it lookj like we will take a direct hit again to the oklahoma city area, with a potentially mile to mile and a half wide tornado. they have just began evacuating will rodgers international airport. it s on a path to hit the airport and hit northwest oklahoma. this is the worst case scenario. throughout all of this coverage over the last couple of weeks as we have all been briefed about, if it starts here, and heads in this the absolute worst thing it can happen, which would be
itself. everybody from northwest oklahoma city down to moore should be in shelters now, go ahead. i m going to move. i m moving back east. they are running. i have a lot of highway people running west bound. shepard: headed to damage to the west of you in. yes, yes, they are blocking all the roads west bounds. i know there s major damage west, i can t not tell you extent or injuries. i know it hit a mobile home park. shepard: so jeff you are reporting that westbound traft on interstate 40 is now being shut down? it is stopped. highway patrol has stopped westbound and eastbound and exit ramps. they ve done an outstanding job in stopping people from driving into the storm. i have been 10 miles back of el reno, and there was a long line of cars and trucks that were
populated. it absolutely is. and then one other, the interstate 44 at the i-44 corridor that cuts the state. the storm moving directly east, edmond, to the north, suspect on the north side of the tornado, chr is not good news. i think we are talking about a more populated area because it gets more populated the closer you get into the city and this is going directly into that area, and boy, take a look at that picture. you can see the tornado right there on the ground. yeah, very, very this one, though, i tell you, shep, the latest warning takes this continued toward the due east with maybe a slightly southeast track and that puts moore potentially right in the path. a number of road closures are now in effect. we have been watching the local stations there and some of the storm tracks and it s possible
people were going away from where they felt that it would form. they thought they would head due east or east southeast or slightly east northeast and that is what has happened. now it s on the move, headed in the general direction of mustang, oklahoma, beyond the freeway. the will rodgers airport will be just to the north of the area, where it s going, all of you in south oklahoma city, and then toward the general direction of moore, oklahoma. joan, on the phone, how are you? we are just about to go under, we appreciate it. shepard: i-40. you are in the path of this thing. we are in the path, so we are underground so we need to get inside, i appreciate your covering it. shepard: get in now, thank you, bye. back to the storm chaser who will be with us in a moment, a lot of people heeded the warnings, rick, we were in oklahoma city last weecy in moore actually. i did not get word of a single
