The Law Offices of Eddie Farah was established in 1980 after firm founder Eddie Farah graduated from Cumberland School of Law at Samford University. In 1990, his brother, Chuck, graduated from Cumberland and the firm’s name changed to Farah & Farah. The third and fourth Farahs now are practicing in the firm: Eddie Farah’s son, Khalil, and daughter, Dalya. “I never pushed them to do it, but it’s a family affair at this point,” said Eddie Farah. “They don’t get any special treatment. They’re handling cases just like everybody else.” Khalil Farah, 30, joined the firm in 2015. A graduate of Florida State University College of Law, he focuses his practice on representing people who’ve been injured in automobile accidents and premises liability.

January 25th, 2021 by Jake Stofan Legislation to protect businesses from what lawmakers describe as ‘frivolous’ lawsuits related to the pandemic passed its first Senate committee Monday. The bill is facing stiff opposition from trial lawyers, who argue it would make it almost impossible for a person to seek damages from businesses that aren’t taking precautions. Lawmakers have made COVID-liability protections a top priority for the 2021 legislative session. “Businesses need certainty,” said State Senator Jeff Brandes. Brandes is sponsoring the bill. It would require a person to prove a business acted with ‘gross negligence’ in order for a civil suit related to the pandemic to go forward.

The Farah & Farah law firm has a plan to keep New Year’s Eve revelers safe if they choose to celebrate away from home. Partygoers in Jacksonville and St. Augustine can get a free ride to and from their destination via a $50 Lyft credit, or a cab ride within a 40-mile radius via Clean Taxi and zTrip. “Despite the pandemic, millions of Floridians will be on the roads this New Year’s Eve, and our goal is to help keep them safe,” said Eddie Farah, founder and managing partner, in a news release.
