Stormed the place. A neighborhood that was sound asleep awoke this morning to this. [ sound of gunfire ] and not for just a minute. There was sporadic gunfire for hours. And explosions and screaming it seemed everywhere. [ speaking Foreign Language ] we felt the building shake. There were guys upstairs screaming. Shoot, shoot. Reporter and boy did they shoot. Two people were killed and one woman detonated a suicide vest and took her own life. The authorities described the two who died as terrorists. But seven people were arrested. And police havent described them at all yet. And thats where it all gets a little murky. The french prosecutor said definitively when over that Abdelhamid Abaaoud was not among those arrested. The prosecutor did not say if he was killed. Some media reports say he was. At least 35 people shot this friday here in new york city over the weekend including the youngest victim yet across the city, a a 1yearold boy shot and killed. A police say the baby was with his family enjoying a summer night out when shots rang out, three adults were injured and the baby, shot in the stomach, died at the hospital. Im more troubled by the fact that other republican officials who clearly know better are going along with this, are humoring him in this fashion. Its one more step in delegitimizing not just the Incoming Biden Administration but democracy generally. And that is a dangerous path. Harris however, legal expert Jonathan Turley pushed back on the former president s comments saying the legal battles are actually helping preserve our democracy. Its a rather odd comment that confirming the validity of the votes is delegitimizing democracy. You would think that the way to uphold democracy is to assure that, well, democracy happened.
