Maybe theres good reasoning behind that and so i guess that i would like to know more extensively about, you know, why those are chosen and i also, i guess, on a larger you know, scale, why the second you said its facilities related but maybe that is not time to go into depth, but i dont know if theres a way to increase capacity for those sites. If theres something that we could do, i would want to do it. If its not feasible, okay, but i guess that, you know, in some ability to speak to that, that would be helpful. Id be happy to. I think that, commissioner, just to clarify, while the facilities did share information with the instructional team, just to make sure that we were avoiding any, you know, any sites that had real issues. The selection of the sites is driven by the guiding principle that it is best for students to be back in their normally assigned home classrooms to the extent possible. However, to have full conversation about policing it is imperative to deeply understand the system of policing and its budget, and that brings us to our hearing today. My office worked to include questions in the report that would give this committee as much insent insight as possible into the Police Department inned a vance of the process in august. I anticipate there may be questions asked today that there arent immediate answers to. My staff will be tracking the inquiries and work on the followup report and that the board has the information it needs. I would like to remind the committee that the Police Department budget would come before this committee again and come before us two more times and in august and engaged in the full budget process. But just in the context of this hearing, id like to point out that the board has been so far, from what ive heard, asking a lot of questions about identifying sort of superfluous elements of the Police Budget such that can be cut, particularly in the light of this budget deficit. And these are only symptoms of a much broader problem, and lets not forget that the Biggest Issue with the police is that this is an institution that directly targets black and brown people and that the time has concluded.
