ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WHEC) A Rochester bar and restaurant lost its liquor license, and it s started a GoFundMe to pay the fine.
The full board suspended the East End Tavern s liquor license on April 5, because the State Liquor Authority (SLA) says on April 3 an investigator found the tavern open at 11:20 p.m., past the 11 p.m. curfew for bars and restaurants, and saw people congregating without masks or food.
The investigator also claimed the car was at 75% capacity when they were there.
Members of the Liquor Authority Board say the bar looked pre-pandemic that night. As you can see from the pictures, people are just on top of each other in this location so it s not a question of occupancy it s a question of complete absence of effort to ensure the social distancing or food being served, Gary Meyerhoff said. This is not a dining establishment this is a bar scene and the licensee, the owner is inside.
