Wayne County Sheriff's Deputies have caught up with 26 year old Quila Marie Hart of Noble. The Richland County woman was wanted on a failure to appear warrant that dates back to late July of this year. She was originally charged with Domestic Battery with intent to cause Bodily Harm. She was due in court in September but failed to show up. Authorities found Hart earlier this month and she was in court last week. A 35 year old Fairfield man is behind bars facing charges of Criminal Trespass and Damage to Government Supported Property. Shannon Lee Cone allegedly committed the offenses on October 14th. The Trespass charge is a Class A Misdemeanor while the Damage charge levied against Cone is a Class 3 Felony. He's yet to submit a plea and will be due in court on December 1st before Judge Molt. States Attorney Kevin Kakac is the prosecuting attorney. $5,000 cash bail is required for Cone's release. An accident on Saturday left both vehicles involved with significant damage.

EDWARDS CO. REAL ESTATE TAX BILLS DUE Edwards County Treasurer Debbie Smith is reminding Edwards County taxpayers that the first installment of the 2021 payable 2022 Real Estate Taxes are due today. This year's Tax extension amounts to $6,490,579.88. Payments may be made in person, by mail, or in the outside drop box. The box is located in front of the Cell Tower on the northeast side of the Courthouse (Sheriff's side). Anyone who uses the drop box should include a daytime phone number on their information. Those who wish to pay online using a credit or debit card may go to www.govtechtaxpro.com which will add a 2.5% fee that goes to the credit card company. The instructions are listed on the back of the tax bills on how to pay online. The second installment will be due Monday, November 28, 2022.
