The Boothbay boys’ basketball team posted a successful regular season last year, finishing seventh in the Heal point standings with an 11-7 record. But the season ended in disappointing fashion, as Traip defeated Boothbay in the tournament.
The Boothbay-Wiscasset combined cross country team traveled to Belfast Sept. 30 for the annual Festival of Champions. The girls’ and boys’ teams ranked in the middle amongst hundreds of athletes, but coach Nick Scott said their individual.
The Boothbay Region and Wiscasset high schools’ cross country team had its debut race in Brunswick Sept. 2. The girls and boys teams were shorthanded, but Coach Nick Scott described the meet as a fantastic outing for the start to a promising season.
Boothbay Region High School Seahawks and Wiscasset Middle High School Wolverines have joined forces once again for the Boothcasset cross country team. With the season beginning officially Sept. 2 in Brunswick, the “Seawolves” already got their feet.
We all hoped the COVID-19 pandemic – which dominated the news for the second straight year – would end sometime in 2021; however, the end-of-the-year numbers for cases, hospitalizations and deaths have increased to record levels since March 2020.
