he told bret baier the president s thinking about a border wall during the campaign was not fully informed and that there are a lot of places across the southern border where building a wall is neither practical nor possible and the u.s. was not going to get the money to build the wall from the mexican government. john kelly saying the president s views have evolved over time. the president taking to twitter this morning to restate his position saying quote the wall is the wall, it has never changed or evolved from the first day i conceived of it. parts of it will be see-through and never intended to be built in areas where there is natural protection, the wall will be paid for directly or indirectly or through longer-term reimbursement by mexico which has a ridiculous trade surplus. the $20 billion dollar wall is peanuts compared to what mexico makes from the u.s. nafta.

dana: you know i gave him an a for marketing for a buy american, higher american. i knew you would. dana: the democrats hated it that. it was called the clear skies act. secretary kelly s comments, i did think listening to a secretary in the cabinet, what keeps them awake at night and he says it s the southern border and that if there is a terrorist attack, it would come from mitigating across that southern border. what you think? that does not keep me up at night. we have 700 miles of fencing and walls already. we need to implement technology, not build a 20 plus billion dollar wall that won t actually work because here in california even where things are walled off, the cartels use boats and land on our shores all the way up the central coast of california. so building a wall, ceiling off the border is in the queue thing. plus it also happens to ignore the millennium interior attacks
so what is it going to be when he runs for re-election and unemployment is at 6% and it s the worst crime in 48 years. no, it s really the lowest crime rate in about 48 years. had a little uptick last year. but historically low. we can expect the crime rate will probably stay the same or go up. so then what does he say if it s the worst in 47 years now what does he say two years from now? same thing with illegal immigration. it s been going down for years now what is he going to say? he has created these ises where these crises don t exist. what happe when we have a slight return tonormalcy? suddenly, he looks terrible. it begs the question do you need the wall, exactly, mr. trump? mr. president since you came into office. incident to take credit for those going down? i m sure he will at some point. also, president obama was known as the deporter in chief and deported more people than anybody.
the numbers of people streaming across the border have already been going down so you set yourself up with a strawman of something that is actually not happening and paint yourself in noo a corner now and you have to push for 22 billion dollar wall that will include using eminent domain and all of these things nobody wants to have to use. what do you need the wall if everything is happening without wall? the two academic numbers i think they are most focused on where they think they can see improvement, one is the gdp number getting it closer to 3 than at 2. the other is job creation although we had month after month new jobs adding to the economy but the numbers weren t very big. they believe the job owning they are doing and as well as the policies they are pursuing can get those numbers higher by next year and maybe by the end of this year. i believe we are going to see an increase in economic pace and if listening to all of the business owners and the business community, listen
