he told bret baier the president's thinking about a border wall during the campaign was not fully informed and that there are a lot of places across the southern border where building a wall is neither practical nor possible and the u.s. was not going to get the money to build the wall from the mexican government. john kelly saying the president's views have evolved over time. the president taking to twitter this morning to restate his position saying quote the wall is the wall, it has never changed or evolved from the first day i conceived of it. parts of it will be see-through and never intended to be built in areas where there is natural protection, the wall will be paid for directly or indirectly or through longer-term reimbursement by mexico which has a ridiculous trade surplus. the $20 billion dollar wall is peanuts compared to what mexico makes from the u.s. nafta.
