Bridgeman Named Second-Team All-American

CLEMSON, S.C. Clemson senior Jacob Bridgeman was named a second-team All-American by the Golf Coaches Association of America on Tuesday. It is the second consecutive year Bridgeman has been named a second-team All-American by that organization.Bridgeman joins former teammate Bryson Nimmer as the only Clemson golfers in the last 13 years to be named a first or second-team All-American by the Golf Coaches Association twice.Bridgeman led the Tigers this year with a 70.43 stroke average, posted a team best 15 rounds in the 60s, and 19 under-par rounds. He was 29-under par for  his 30 rounds. He won two tournaments this year, the Linger Longer Collegiate in March with a 16-under-par score of 200, and the ACC Tournament in April with  a 13-under score of 203.The week after the ACC Tournament he was named the ACC Player of the Year. Clemson Finishes Season Sixth at NCAA Columbus Regional

COLUMBUS, Ohio Clemson finished four shots short of qualifying for the NCAA National Tournament on Wednesday after shooting a final round seven over par 291 at the NCAA Columbus Regional. The Tigers finished in a tie for sixth place, just one place shy of the needed top five finish to advance to the national tournament in Scottsdale, Arizona later this month. Clemson was in fourth place entering the final round, but there was a logjam of teams in contention entering the day and throughout the final round on the par 71 Ohio State University Course. Oklahoma State and Georgia Tech were co-champions of the regional with scores of 10-under-par 842. Ohio State took advantage of its home course to finish third with a score of 856. Arkansas was fourth with a seven over par score of 859 and East Tennessee State was the final qualifier with an 862 score. Clemson was tied for sixth at 14-over-par 866 with San Francisco. Bridgeman Makes Debut in PGA Event This Weekend

CLEMSON, S.C. Clemson senior Jacob Bridgeman will make his debut in a PGA Tour event at this weekend’s Wells Fargo Invitational at the TPC Potomac at Avenel Farm in Potomac, Md. Bridgeman received a sponsor’s exemption for the tournament over the weekend and will be one of six Clemson golfers past or present who will be in the field.Bridgeman will retain his amateur status and return to the Clemson lineup for the NCAA Regional Tournament, May 16-18. He will be the 10th  golfer to play in a PGA Tournament while still a member of the Clemson team, the first to do it since Bryson Nimmer finished 47th at the 2019 Puerto Rico Open.Bridgeman has had a strong senior year and is ranked second on the latest PGA University rankings. He has a 70.37 stroke average for the academic year for his nine tournaments and 27 rounds. He has six top 10 finishes and two victories, including winning the ACC Tournament in his most recent start. He has 14 rounds in the 60s and 18 under-par rounds.Bridgem
