The city says theyve got the salt and the plows at the ready this morning. City maintenance says theyve been preparing since august, getting all of their equiptment lined up and ready to go out as soon as snow starts to actually stay on the ground. Theyve also already pre treated some of the roads in town. Weve got two brine trucks that have been out and theyre hitting the priority ones and priority twos streets. And we have the guys getting all the other salt and equiptment ready as far as putting on plows, putting on salt rigs, making sure theyre all ready to go, ready to hit the ground running says ed pickens, street superintendent for sioux city. Lukas pickens says its important for drivers to go slowly during the snowy conditions, and stay back from the plows so that they can do their job more effectively and safely. Died from those injuries. Police were trying to track a stolen vehicle yesterday afternoon when saw another suspicious car near 26th and zuni. When officers tried talking to the officer, they say he got out of the car with a gun and shots were fired. Police havent said who the suspect is or if he fired. It happened a few blocks from another shooting we told you about yesterday. Two people got into a fight which escalateed into a shooting at 28th and zuni. Gop hopefuls have held events in big venues such as the orpheum and the Convention Center while others have had Campaign Events at smaller locations like coffee shops. Some candidates stick to big events to show the enthusiam and momentum in their support.
