A carer and medical student from Surrey is in line to be crowned Miss England after qualifying for the final of the competition recently. 19-year-old Dhwani Kothari from Woking is the reigning Miss Surrey and so impressed the Miss England judges during a qualifying interview Zoom meeting that she earned a place in the Miss England final next month (August 27). Dhwani was born in Mumbai, India, and moved to Surrey with her mother aged six. From the age of eight, Dhwani became a carer after her mum Ekta was diagnosed with a brain tumour. Since then, she became increasingly engaged with the condition and with medicine more generally, taking up a place at the University of Leicester to study Medical Science.
