China floats 3 proposals on COVID -19 cooperation for SA including Bangladesh

DHAKA, April 27, 2021 (BSS) – China today proposed three proposals including setting up a “Covid Emergency Medical Storage Facility” for five South Asian nations including Bangladesh at a Beijing-led foreign minister level virtual meeting among the nations.
“At the meeting, we laid emphasis on cooperation and partnership (on COVID-19),” Foreign Minister Dr AK Abdul Momen told media at a briefing after the meeting at his residence in the capital.
Apart from setting up the medical storage facilities, Momen said, China also proposed for building a development center to deal with post-Covid poverty and an e-Commerce Forum for boosting to the South Asian business.

DHAKA, April 26, 2021 (BSS) – Foreign Minister Dr AK Abdul Momen will join a Beijing-led South Asian foreign ministers meeting on COVID-19 cooperation tomorrow.
Talking to BSS this afternoon, Momen said foreign ministers of Nepal, Sri Lanka, Pakistan and Afghanistan were others to join the meeting initiated by his Chinese counterpart to discuss cooperation in combating the pandemic including accessibility to COVID-19 vaccines developed by China.
“The meeting will be held tomorrow, and we will discuss about setting up a South Asia COVID 19 vaccine storage facilities,” he said.
Momen said that China proposed vaccine storage facility was expected to reach inoculates to the countries in need on emergency basis but “the proposal is still under preliminary discussion, no framework among the nations is yet to develop in this regard”.
The foreign ministers of Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Nepal, Afghanistan, Pakistan and China will attend the virtual meeting.

DHAKA: Bangladesh will join a China-led South Asian foreign ministers meeting on COVID-19 cooperation on Tuesday during which deliberations will be held on setting up coronavirus vaccine storage facilities in the region and other measures to fight the pandemic, Foreign Minister A K Abdul Momen said on Monday.
The foreign ministers of Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Nepal, Afghanistan, Pakistan and China will attend the virtual meeting. The meeting will be held tomorrow (Tuesday), and we will discuss setting up a South Asia COVID 19 vaccine storage facilities, Momen told state-run BSS.
