City college is in very dire straights. The board of trustees and administration have made massive class cuts including the almost complete disruption of the older adults program. Three hundred classes cut last fall. Five hundred in the year before. This year, huge cuts in the esl program. Campuses are closing. Now theres to be another cut to existing use and potential growth including Affordable Housing and other uses by city college. We urge you to consider that many of the staff and teachers of city college are opposed to this as well. I would lake to bring your attention to two letters that were recently sent to the committee. So thankfully the balboa reservoir project heard us loud and clear from the Community Members and will be a reflection of the desire to retain, attract and nurture the next generation of san franciscans. The project will have two and three bedroom units and other amenities including open space play areas a child care facility and indoor and outdoor common areas for events. Overall i believe the project is thoughtful and includes many of the elements and that the community is able to see if two acre park that will be central to the project and pedestrian walkways and bike lanes connecting the neighborhoods to ocean avenue corridor. Complimentary design to reflect the existing neighborhoods and to promote existing businesses and with the commercial district and we are work on fine details of the neighborhood and Community Stakeholders to improve the project further and to have clarity.
