Members of the Detroit Lakes Planning Commission recommended approval of a conditional use permit and rezoning for a proposed Eventide Senior Living Community on East Shore Drive by a 5-3 vote during their most recent meeting on Oct. 27. Dozens of residents from the east side of Detroit Lake showed up to the meeting and voiced their opposition to the facility. Next stop for the proposal will be the Detroit Lakes Community Development Committee on Nov. 7.
