A 119-unit Eventide senior living community may become a reality in Detroit Lakes as the city planning commission holds a public hearing over rezoning two parcels on East Shore Drive on Thursday, Oct. 27. More than 700 additional Detroit Lakes area households are expected to be aged 65 and older over the next five years, according to a community impact assessment conducted by the Fargo-based senior care provider.
Enid Caroline (Zitzow) Lichtsinn was born on February 6, 1935 to John and Edna (Flateau) Zitzow in Perham, MN. Enid grew up and attended school in Perham, Wheaton and Breckenridge, MN; graduating from Breckenridge High School in 1953. On May 28, 1955 she married her high school sweetheart, LeNoel “Lix” Lichtsinn and they moved to Minneapolis, MN.
LeNoel William Lichtsinn was born on October 11, 1932 to William and Mable (Lundquist) Lichtsinn in Wheaton, MN. LeNoel (“Lix” or “Lee”) grew up and attended school in Wheaton, graduating from high school in 1950. He attended the Minnesota School of Business in Minneapolis and was employed by the McCabe Grain Exchange. He enlisted in the Army in 1953 and served at Fort Leonard Wood, being assigned to administrative duties and a leadership position in a program to train recruits with disadvantaged backgrounds. He was honorably discharged as a sergeant in February 1955.
