An Accra Circuit Court has remanded a 30-year-old Soldier who is facing trial for allegedly having multiple sex with a 14-year-old girl at Burma Camp in Accra.
Richard Okyere who is facing a charge of defiling a minor pleaded not guilty and his lawyer prayed the court to grant him bail. But the court presided over by Mrs. Adelaide Abui Kadey, remanded Okyere into Military custody to reappear on January 27, 2021. The prosecution, led by Detective Sergeant Opoku Aniagyei, narrated to the court that both the complainant who is a 53-year-old labourer of the Ghana Military Police, and the accused live at Burma Camp in Accra. He said the victim is a 14-year-old Junior High School student, residing with the father who is the complainant in the case.
