The trial, which began Monday and concluded Thursday, marked the first in Schenectady County since November and only the second since March 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The state recently allowed trials to resume again.
Judge Matthew Sypniewski then imposed the maximum term Thursday.
Fessette was originally arrested in 2019, after the child first disclosed the sexual assault.

Recreational marijuana is now legal for adults in New York, but that doesn’t necessarily mean the end of testing for the drug in the workplace, experts said.
Although there is nothing in the law that bars companies from testing existing employees or job applicants for marijuana, the statute tweaked New York’s labor law to prevent companies from disciplining workers or not hiring applicants for using pot on their own time.

SCHENECTADY – A Schenectady man was convicted Thursday of criminal sexual act against a 10-year-old boy, Schenectady County District Attorney’s officials said.
The jury returned the guilty verdict against Kevin Fessette, 29, after approximately 30 minutes of deliberations of one count each of first-degree criminal sexual act, a felony, and endangering the welfare of a child, a misdemeanor, prosecutors said.
Fessette now faces up to 25 years in state prison at his sentencing later.
In April, Judge Napolitano said he was “100% certain” the FBI has enough evidence to indict and convict Hillary Clinton but things just got a whole lot more interesting.
This next bit of information is big news if people trust FBI Director Jim Comey and the FBI itself. Attorney General Loretta Lynch said she will accept whatever recommendation Comey makes after Hillary’s lengthy criminal investigation is complete.
However, later this morning, during a long-planned interview at the Aspen Institute, she said that “she will accept the decisions of FBI and career prosecutors on email probe”. She “fully expects” to do that. It’s what she is supposed to do but she left herself some wiggle room.
