The man who pleaded guilty in connection with Regina’s fourth murder of 2019 has been handed an 11-year prison sentence.
Adam Taniskishayinew, who pleaded guilty to manslaughter on March 3, was in court Wednesday for sentencing.
After credit for the time he spent on remand, the 29-year-old man will spend about 8 1/2 years in prison.
Taniskishayinew was arrested in October of 2019 and charged with second-degree murder in the death of Denny Jimmy earlier that year.
On June 11, Jimmy was found dead in a car after what the Regina Police Service initially thought was a single-vehicle crash in the area of Fifth Avenue and Lindsay Street.
