Dennis Camp, with the Monett Police Department, displays one of two new EVOLIS Radar Speed Signs from Elan City in Long Island City, N.Y., that will be used for speeding awareness in Monett. The signs were purchased through the Missouri Coalition for Roadway Safety’s Blueprint Grant. The units have built in radar detection and are programmable to display a variety of customizable safety awareness messages. Melonie Roberts/reporter@monett-times.com Radar speed detection signs will also collect traffic data for evaluation The Monett Police Department has two new tools in its enforcement arsenal that will help motorists be more aware of their speed and collect traffic data for officers to evaluate in an effort to enhance driver safety.
