New Delhi, Jan 15: School principals in the national capital welcomed the government s decision to reopen schools for classes 10 and 12 students, saying it will give them ample time and good atmosphere for preparing for board exams. The decision to call students will help them to prepare for their upcoming board exams. Also, there are a number of steps that the school authorities will take to ensure that the students stay safe from the infection. The safest way for the students to commute to school would be via the private vehicles of their parents and guardians, said Alka Kapur, Principal, Modern Public School, Shalimar Bagh.

School principals in the national capital believe that the government s announcement of not conducting board exams till February 2021, has brought some clarity for them and they will have time to prepare students accordingly. Union Minister of Education Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank had on Tuesday ruled out conducting board examinations for classes 10 and 12 till February next year in view of the COVID-19 situation.
Usually, the practical exams are conducted in January and theory exams begin every year in February and conclude in March. As per the latest information from the board, the examination dates will be announced soon, and students own schools will not be their examination centres, Alka
