Photo: Reuters New Delhi: For the first time in nearly six decades, according to a news report in The Irrawaddy, a civilian in strife-torn Mynamar has filed a case against the Myanmar Police Force for wrongfully detaining him for about six months. The case has been filed by Ko Aung Gyi, who was arrested by the police last year on the charge of raping a toddler at a pre-school in Naypyitaw where he was employed as a driver. The case had created a sensation across Myanmar. Dubbing the victim as “Victoria” on social media and on banners, many took to the streets to demand justice.
