Excelsior Correspondent KATHUA, Aug 4: National Bone and Joint Day was celebrated today with great enthusiasm by Jammu and Kashmir Orthopaedic Association (JKOA) and Government Medical College (GMC) Kathua. To celebrate the Day, JKOA started providing online training regarding proper first aid/basic life support to around one lakh people including students, police personnel and common men to make them life saviours. Rajesh K Gupta, president, JKOA said that this year the theme of the celebration is ‘Save self Save One’ as the focus is on deaths occurring deaths due to trauma and accidents in India. Gupta said the training programme were started on August 1 and will last till August 7. He said alongside training, these one lakh people will be educated about how to keep the bones healthy and strong.
