MOTHER S Day is a time for gratitude and reflection . But for Victoria Evans and daughter Charlie it is the perfect chance to praise Hoylake lifeboat volunteers who came to their rescue after they got stuck up to their waists in mud at the bottom of a cliff.
Charlie and mum Bunta Victoria, known as Bunta to family and friends, was enjoying a walk along Thurstaston Beach with husband Andy, Charlie and their puppy on February 1 minutes before the drama unfolded. Although the family had checked the tides before heading out for a coastal walk, unbeknown to the three of them, a recent landslide had made the surrounding area hazardous, and the tide was rising. Realising their predicament, Andy went for help.
