Walkers stuck waist-deep in mud near Thurstaston beach

One casualty had to be dug out carefully by hand after suffering a leg injury. Picture: Hoylake RNLI TWO walkers were rescued after getting stuck waist-deep in mud near Thurstaston Beach this afternoon. Hoylake lifeboat s volunteer crew launched their Inshore Rescue Hovercraft Hurley Spirit at around 12.30pm to reports to reports of two people stuck in mud near to Sally’s Cottage on Thurstaston Beach.  Merseyside Fire and Rescue Service and Flint and Wirral Coastguard Rescue Teams had also been alerted to the scene. The Hoylake RNLI crew and the other emergency services worked together to free the first casualty within minutes, who was brought on board the hovercraft.
