(BoboBear/YouTube) RCMP believe a woman and teenager were unable to escape before a fire destroyed a family duplex in a small hamlet west of Edmonton early Tuesday. An officer patrolling in Evansburg, Alta., noticed a multi-family duplex on fire shortly after 3 a.m. in the area of 49th Street and 52nd Avenue, RCMP said in a news release Tuesday evening.

Posted: Jan 27, 2021 11:43 AM MT | Last Updated: January 28 A fire broke out inside this family duplex in Evansburg on Tuesday. A woman and teenager who lived in the home remain unaccounted for. (Min Dhariwal/CBC) A woman and her teenage son are confirmed dead after a fire destroyed a home in a hamlet west of Edmonton, RCMP said Wednesday.  The duplex, shared by several members of a single family, was gutted in an early-morning blaze Tuesday in Evansburg, Alta. The remains of 50-year-old Theresa Han and her 16-year-old son Jun were recovered during a forensic search Wednesday afternoon. It s believed they were unable to escape before flames engulfed the house, RCMP said.
