“Our staff are our family.”
Federal business supports that have been extended to June 5 have helped keep the pub afloat but barely he said, and have left him skipping his own paycheque.
“They cover 75 per cent, which isn’t even close to enough. It helps us with expenses but you’re at a negative at the end of it,” said Shupenia, who will once again have to revert solely to takeout and patio business on Friday.
“These new restrictions are another punch in the face . . . I’ve got friends who are taking it out of their own pockets.”
