Hospice South Canterbury administrator Ann Brown holds some handbags in preparation for the Old Bags Lunch fundraiser on Saturday.
Organisers of the second Old Bags Lunch are hoping to top the fundraising efforts of their first such event, and are counting on attendees to dust off their spare handbags to help. The Old Bags Lunch is a Hospice South Canterbury fundraiser which sees participants bring a handbag each to sell, and then they get the opportunity to buy one or bid in an auction for a designer bag. Hospice South Canterbury marketing and events manager Jeanna Munro said they ran a similar event in 2015 and raised $6000, but hoped to raise more this time.

Move over Melbourne, Wellington has a foodie street that may be the world s tastiest laneway.
Unlike other cities, which have an obvious “main street”, in Wellington, there have always been several stretches of asphalt vying for the title. There’s Cuba Street, the beloved bohemian quarter. There’s Courtenay Place, the nightlife district. There’s Lambton Quay, the beating business heart. But in recent years, another thoroughfare has emerged as the capital’s most exciting street. It has everything you could want in one handy strip – great food, drinks, street art, shopping, and even a brand-new boutique hotel.
