Why did you write it . Guest i wrote it for ava and otis who are my grandchildren. There comes a point when you have to leave the world a better place than you had and i wanted them to learn lessons from my public life. I was living being a protoage of ralph nadir i was struck by two things. A famous conductor said in 1953, a liberal is someone that believes in a bright, infinate future. And bill buckley said for the Mission Statement for the National Review foundnd in 1955 is a conservative is someone who stands for history yelling stop. I said that is it. A progressive believes in progress. As fdr said in his 1936 convention speech. Government can error and help people but better it help peoples life than be frozen in indifference. Food stamps sound like good for them. Who is giving food to hungry people

The good news is thank god we dont need a journalistic goddess, the guy who owns the show sent us the news yesterday that susan rice withdrew. [ laughter ] if only we had a tv. Stephanie right or computers. Here she is news goddess Jacki Schechner. Secretary of defense has authorized deployment of 400 troops to man the turkey syria border. They are emphasizing this is only a defensive mission. Susan rice will meet with president obama at the white house today. He has already accepted her withdraw for consideration to replace Hillary Clinton. She is a fighter but not at the cost of what is right with the country. The president praised her strength of character, and called the attacks on her in recent weeks unfair and misleading. The reaction to the withdrawal were short and dismiss
Most striking thing to me when i talk, sit in rooms in lebanon or turkey or jordan and talk to refugees, sit in Community Centers and meet, you know, ive got in my mind 35 women who are in one of our health centers, they will tell you unbelievable stories of horror and loss. And the only time they will smile is when you ask them do you ever think youll go back . And extraordinarily strikingly, their face changes s and they say, yes. And thats someone who 30 seconds before was talking about her house being bombed and her husband being lost and her son being lost. But that, none of them expect to go back anytime soon. I think thats the other side of the coin. And i dont its a very technologicallyenabled and connected population. Theyre reading the ruins in the same way that we are. They see the news reports. They know that president assad is not going to be toppled tomorrow. They can see the war lengthening. They go backwards and forwards, by the way, a point that hasnt come up very much
