Hemingways, the international specialist for online gifting, sales and distribution, has acquired software business and Microsoft Gold Partner Bliss-Systems for an undisclosed sum.
102-year-old Hemingways, which operates within eCommerce solutions, managed software, sales, assembly and distribution, works with clients including Cadbury, John Lewis and IKEA. Its strategic acquisition of Bliss-Systems has been funded by its own cash reserves.
Following the deal, Bliss-Systems - whose team of consultants and developers deliver technical solutions for a range of global organisations - will retain its 12 employees, name, and Leeds and Oxford offices.
Hemingways works with more than 7,000 clients in 14 countries, promoting and selling to consumer and business markets. It operates Voucher Express, providing platforms for retailers to supply digital products including gift cards and vouchers.

SALT LAKE CITY â Some strange deliveries are worrying a Rose Park neighborhood after several dogs have suffered stomach illnesses.
Neighbors believe someone is leaving large chunks of ground beef on the sidewalk and in the street.
They report this has happened at least once or twice a week since late March.
âHe was sick and had runny bowel movements, so we knew something was amiss,â said Ross Kelly. His dog Charlie was one of the first in the neighborhood to experience those symptoms.

A PIONEERING music programme which will nurture, develop and produce the artists of the future is set to launch at one of the region’s universities.
The BA (Hons) Modern Music Industries course at Sunderland University will be run in partnership with the Northern Academy of Music Education (NAME) – made up of Barry Hyde, from the Futureheads, and business partner Dan Donnelly, who has performed with Celtic Social Club, The Wonder Stuff, and The Levellers.
