Cyclone Mocha will track northeastward towards Arakan Coast. It is likely to cross the coast between Cox's Bazar (Bangladesh) and Kyaukpyu (Myanmar) tomorrow around noon hours.
Mocha will weaken rapidly after striking the coast and moving inland. Still, in that order, the northeastern states of India, covering Tripura, Mizoram, Manipur, Nagaland and Upper Assam, will experience adverse weather conditions between 14th and 15th May 2023.
Cyclone Mocha is moving more northward and will follow this track for another 24 hours. During this period, the cyclone is likely to intensify further to a severe cyclonic storm tonight and further to a very severe cyclonic storm, equivalent to a Cat-II hurricane, by tomorrow morning.
