Observing that cutting of trees should not be allowed till all options to protect them, including their translocation, are explored and exhausted, the Supreme Court on Tuesday pulled up UP government for seeking its permission for felling 3,874 trees for construction of road in Taj Trapezium zone without examining their translocation and alloting area for compulsory afforestation.
