north of vacaville this afternoon. it burned about 15 acres before it was controlled. don knapp is live at the scene with more. don? reporter: and that fire came up quickly and spread quickly, thanks to strong quirky winds, a couple of outbuildings were heavily damaged or destroyed and a couple of vehicles and a house was heavily damaged but a woman who lived in that house is alive and safe thanks to the efforts of an offduty firefighter. reporter: a grass fire or maybe it was four separate fires, started in a very short period of time, raising suspicions. a police officer says the area with the crime scene, as they investigate a possible arson. firefighters rushed to protect property. and the fields are mostly grass burned quickly. a caravan of firefighters headed for the huge power substation near interstate 80 east of the 505 interchange. and it was not damaged. but the heavy winds had residents worried. the wind is very changeable. it changes at a moment s notice. w
