(KTVZ) – A Prineville woman was jailed on assault, reckless driving and other charges after a hit-and-run crash that injured a passenger not wearing a seat belt, Crook County sheriff’s deputies said Sunday. Deputies responded around 8:20 a.m. to the reported hit-and-run in the Ochoco West community northwest of Prineville, Sgt. Tim Durheim said. It was determined the 44-year-old woman tried to negotiate a turn too quickly at the intersection of Grizzly Road and Northwest Prine Road and struck a boulder, a road sign and damaged several speed bumps, Durheim said.

Around 11 a.m., he failed to perform duties of a driver with property damage in Redmond before heading into Crook County. Once on Highway 126 in Crook County, he was called in as a reckless driver running people off the road.

Driver arrested for DUII crash Stephen Bushnell, 19, crashes his car into irrigation canal off O Neil Highway A Prineville man was arrested for DUII after crashing his car into an irrigation ditch off O Neil Highway Saturday afternoon. A Crook County law enforcement report said the crash happened just after 4 p.m. at the 3100 block of O Neil Highway. Upon arriving, deputies found a gold Mazda MZ3 sedan partially submerged in the irrigation ditch on the north side of the highway. The vehicle was facing westbound and had significant damage, which indicated that the vehicle had rolled prior to entering the canal. Deputies contacted the driver and sole occupant, 19-year-old Stephen Cody Bushnell of Prineville. He was able to self-extricate from the vehicle and indicated that he was not injured. He declined medical care.

This area consists of unimproved areas next to Ray s Food Place complex, Crook County School District offices, and Crook County Department of Human Services (DHS) offices as well as residences and nearby Barnes Butte Elementary School.
