They need to get help. Reporter investigators released this sketch from witness descriptions. The suspect is described as possibly a latino male, 35 to 50 years old, 59 to 600, medium build. He came up behind the man and hit him hard in the head with a rock and then robbed him while he was on the ground. This is completely and utterly an unprovoked and ruthless assault on one of the most vulnerable members of our community. Reporter police say the suspect was wearing a white tshirt and long black shorts and rode away on a gray and Black Mountain bike. The touchdown would challenge the public to help us in identifying and locating this suspect. If i see somebody like that or ill call the cops and report it. Weve learned this is not just one fire, but a combination of six fires that started shortly before 2 00 this afternoon. So far 138 acres have burned along calaveras and felter roads. Right now the fire is 40 contained and it is not burning in a heavily populated area and no buildings have burned. The fire is near Calaveras Reservoir and calaveras road is now closed and this afternoon cal fire made air drops and we saw a lot of pink retardant covering many of the roads. Crews are also using dozers and other equipment to help them cut fire lines in this area which has very steep terrain. Weve also seen a lot of water tanker trucks heading to the fire which is a remote area. Now fortunately right now the winds are mild. So again, heat, steep terrain. Thesethe firefighters right now. Calaveras rose ad is closed whi could impact who use the road to avoid highway 680 traffic. Cal fire made a lot of air drops. Crews are also using doziers and other equipment to help them cut fire lines in this area, which has very steep terrain, and they tell me that they have just stopped the forward progress of this fire. So certainly that is good news. Because this was six separate fires, it does beg the question, could this possibly be arson . I asked firefighters that. Where is the going going . Somewhere behind all of that fog. Well see a lot more cloud cover today. Were going to be running a few degrees cooler. The reason for that, we have a system, a trough off in the Pacific Northwest that is keeping our temperatures slightly below seasonable for today but its still warm through the inland areas. You can see here on satellite radar the system just off to the north, im going to zoom in a little bit closer, you can see how its bringing that cloud cover and thats whats going to keep our temperatures slightly more comfortable today but still pretty hot. As we head into the start of the work week, were going to start to notice those winds kicking up, and as those winds kick up, High Pressure is going to roll back in and then the concern for fire danger is really going to play a part in your monday through wednesday forecast, and as kira said, into next weekend, were tracking rain chances so ill go over all of that info that i just threw your way comin
