Achievement comes even as vaccination rollout has slowed down in several countries.
Coronavirus infections in the UAE have fallen by 22 per cent - which is more than a fifth from a late January peak. According to BloombergQuint, the UAE has one of the world s fastest Covid vaccination campaigns, having administered 56 doses per 100 people.

One-day offer will see 100 fully vaccinated people get free meals.
Two restaurants at a mall in Abu Dhabi will be offering free meals to customers who are fully vaccinated against Covid-19.

Royal Orchid and Bombay Canteen will serve free food for up to Dh40, which is good enough for a main course. The one-day offer on Sunday, February 28, is on a first-come-first-serve basis and for the first 50 customers at each restaurant.

At least 600 jabs are administered daily at a drive-thru facility in Abu Dhabi, boosting the UAE’s nationwide vaccination drive.
Khaleej Times recently took a guided tour of the facility, where residents could get the jab in just 20 minutes from the comfort of their cars. Jabs are administered daily between 9am and 8pm, and the centre has a maximum capacity of 700 people.
The country targets to vaccinate more than 50 per cent of the population by the end of the first quarter, as announced on January 5. Empowering the UAE’s efforts, since January 16, VPS Healthcare Group has been operating the drive-thru centre at the newest facility of Burjeel Medical City in another example of a successful public-private partnership in the fight against the pandemic.

If the Covid infection required hospitalisation, a doctor determines whether a second dose of the vaccine is necessary.
A person who gets infected with Covid-19 after taking the first dose of the vaccine can take the second shot after complete recovery, officials of the UAE’s Ministry of Health and Prevention (Mohap) said on Tuesday.
“For people who have been infected after taking the first dose, and in case of asymptomatic or minor symptoms, we advise them to complete the second dose after full recovery,” explained Dr Farida Al Hosani, official spokesperson for the UAE health sector.
New Covid strain: Half of UAE residents say Sinopharm can fight it
Some 37 per cent believe there was independent data to prove the vaccine’s effectiveness.
Nearly half of UAE residents (49 per cent) believe the Sinopharm jab is effective against the new strains of the Covid virus, according to the first survey of its kind commissioned by G42 Healthcare.

Conducted in January by YouGov, the online survey explored the perceptions of UAE residents about vaccination, polling more than 1,000 participants from across the emirates.
