UAE Covid vaccination rate of eligible residents now highest in the world

The UAE has vaccinated the highest number of medically eligible residents.
The UAE is now number 1 globally when it comes to vaccinating “medically eligible” residents against Covid-19.
The country has achieved a vaccine distribution rate of 24.58 doses per 100 people in this particular category, the National Emergency Crisis and Disaster Management Authority (NCEMA) announced on Saturday.
When it comes to overall vaccine administration, the UAE is number 2 globally with a dose administration rate of 18.18 per 100 people. Only Israel has administered more doses per 100 people at 25.34.

Ajman has launched an initiative to vaccinate senior citizens and people of determination at their homes, Ajman News reported on Thursday.
Sheikh Abdullah bin Majid bin Saeed Al Nuaimi, Director General of Ajman s Citizens Affairs Office, said that the campaign was launched in coordination with the Ministry of Health in order to protect these vulnerable sections of society.
He urged those who wish to register for the vaccine to call the toll-free number 80070 so they can benefit from the service.
Covid-19 vaccine in UAE: 133,253 people vaccinated in last 24 hours

The UAE has vaccinated 133,253 esidents against Covid-19 in the last 24 hours.
The country s Ministry of Health and Prevention (MoHAP) said the total doses administered now stands at 1,527,833. This takes the rate of doses per 100 people to 15.45.
The UAE s vaccine administration rates are just second behind Israel globally.
This initiative is in line with UAE s plan to vaccinate more than 50 per cent of the country s population.
Experts in the UAE have said the recent spike in Covid-19 cases in the UAE is a worrying trend, but the curve will flatten as vaccines start producing antibodies. This happens within 14 days after a person takes his/her second dose.
Covid vaccine UAE: 97-year-old Emirati takes the jab

Earlier this week, health authorities in the UAE noted that the vaccine can be administered to senior citizens in their homes.
A 97-year-old Emirati received the first dose of China’s Sinopharm Covid-19 vaccine in Al Ain on Thursday.
Senior citizen Nekhaira Obaid Saeed Al Dhaheri took the jab at Abu Dhabi Health Services Company s (Seha) Neina centre in Al Ain.
His son said: “My 97-year-old father decided to join the rest of the family in taking the vaccine. We encouraged him to take the jab in line with the visionary UAE leadership’s wise decision and in support of the nation’s efforts to beat the pandemic and protect the community.
