If you have taken your first COVID vaccine shot, you must be wondering what s the ideal waiting period before you take your second shot. There is still a lot of confusion over the interval between the first and second doses of COVID vaccine, Covishield. Earlier, it was said one had to wait for 28 days between the shots. But, now we hear that the interval period (gap) has been extended from four-six weeks to eight weeks. The second dose of Covaxin can be taken four to six weeks after the first dose. However, a delay beyond the eighth week may leave the beneficiary vulnerable.

New Delhi: The world is finally trying to come back to normal, especially ever since various vaccine candidates against COVID-19 were approved for use by respective regulatory bodies of different countries. Most of these vaccine candidates are shots, administered with an injection, and are administered in two doses, around one month apart. Many researchers have been looking into the effects of spacing out vaccine doses, and have found some benefits that encourage the practice.
Ohio Man Nearly Dies After Receiving COVID Vaccine Twice In Four Hours

In another COVID vaccine mishap, a 91-year-old man from Hamilton, Ohio, nearly died after receiving two doses of the shot just hours apart on the same day.
Victor Smith went into shock after receiving two doses of the Moderna COVID vaccine back-to-back within a four-hour period instead of weeks apart in a case of mistaken identity, the Cincinnati Enquirer reported.
Smith, who is currently recovering from the accidental double-shot dose, received his first shot of the COVID vaccine at the Fort Hamilton Hospital on Jan. 22 and was scheduled to get his second shot of the Moderna vaccine on Feb. 25.
