white house scrambling to slow down the monkeypox outbreak. we are going to speak to one of the top officials working on a new strategy. plus, outrage, an nfl star accused of assault receiving a punishment that critics are calling a slap on the wrist. that s what we re watching for at this hour. thank you for being he, we start this morning with a federal judge ordering that prosecutors propose redactions to the affidavit that was used to justify last week s search of former president trump s florida home. the judge is giving prosecutors a week to do it, but he s already signaling that he s inclined to unseal parts of the highly sensitive document. plus this, cnn is hearing exclusively from 18 former top trump officials who tell us that the former president s claim that he had a standing order to declassify documents is nonsense. let s begin our coverage with cnn s katelyn polantz, she s live for us here in washington. katelyn, walk us through how much detail we could
around the nuclear plant. no signs of what putin called systemic shelling at the plant. video from inside shows russian vehicles in a turbine just a few hundred feet from the reactors. cnn did confirm the authenticity of the video but not the date it was taken. let s start with david mckenzie in the ukrainian capital of kyiv. david, obviously a very worrying situation. he s just visited kyiv and warned this could be another chernobyl, and now we have the russians and ukrainians blaming each other for these attacks. there s very little visibility into what s going on there. please lay out what we do know. reporter: well, what we do know is it s a very worrying situation. this is europe s largest nuclear power plant. if you look at where it is of that industrial zone and that nuclear power plant, it s right on the front line between russia and ukraine. on one side of the river, it s russians okay pig that nuclear power plant, on the other side of the river, it s ukraine. and
hearing though now said to determine whether an independent third party will be appointed to review some of the documents the fbi obtained from trump s mar-a-lago. u.s. district judge, aileen cannon, a trump appointee has ordered a hearing. she has already signaled that she could be inclined to grant trump s request for a special master. she has also given the doj until tuesday to file a public response to that request and present a more detailed list of items taken from mar-a-lago. julie ainsley, more with us. he thank you for joining us. let s talk more about what this means for the doj s review of documents. the possibility of this third party being appointed. that is right, yasmin. that would mean there would be another party reviewing these documents. of course, this is already a pool that the justice department wanted to keep a small as possible. we also know now that the director of national townsend valant. going through the documents, figuring out what should have
and why the republican leaders are raising red flags 82 days away from the midterm elections. candidate qualities has lots to do with the outcome. all in starts right now. good evening from new york, i m chris hayes. there s a bunch of legal news surrounding donald trump today as there is seemingly every day, these days. none of it particularly good for the ex president. first up today, a federal judge in west palm beach says he will consider releasing some of the affidavits central to last week search of trump s florida. property judge bruce reinhardt ordered the justice departments to submit a redacted version of the document that will not undermine its ongoing investigation. then he will decide one week whether to make that version of the document public. we will have more on that. while we are long way from potential criminal charges from the ex president, let alone conviction, we already have trump s former lawyer publicly speculating about him running for a second
