City Police make arrest in larceny cases

Dec 16, 2020 Erin Mabe PLATTSBURGH - Plattsburgh City Police arrested a North Carolina Couple on Monday for their role in a string of larcenies that have taken place city-wide over the past week. Since Dec. 9, City Police have received more than 30 separate reports of larcenies, mostly from vehicles, throughout the city, a news release said. On Monday, police charged Erin Mabe, 38, of Clemmons, N.C. and her 17-year-old accomplice in connection with several of these larcenies, the release said. Police said Mabe and her accomplice targeted unlocked vehicles throughout the city, stealing money, credit cards and other personal property, and on at least one occasion, stole a package from a front porch.

She was being held on $1,000 bond and faced a date in General Sessions Court on Dec. 9. • Andrew P. Ward, 44, of County Road 312, Sweetwater, was arrested on Dec. 9 by the McMinn County Sheriff’s Department and charged with three counts of failure to appear. He was released on $7,000 bond to Bradley County authorities and faces a date in General Sessions Court on Feb. 10, 2021. • Shane Lee Stevens, 47, of County Road 545, Englewood, was arrested on Dec. 9 by the Athens Police Department and charged with burglary, vandalism and possession of drug paraphernalia. He was being held on $12,000 bond and faced a date in General Sessions Court on Dec. 10.
