(Photo by Trever Evans) GLOVERSVILLE The woman injured in the shooting incident in front of Naif’s on North Main Street early Thursday morning is thought to have been an innocent bystander caught in the middle of a targeted shooting. The female victim, initially transported to Nathan Littauer Hospital, was later airlifted to Albany Medical Center due to the nature of her injuries. She is reported to be in stable condition at this time, with non-life threatening injuries, according to a news release from Gloversville Police Chief Anthony Clay. In the release, Clay said the shooting appeared to be a targeted attack, directed at another individual and the female struck “is believed to be an innocent bystander.”

manich@leaderherald.com GLOVERSVILLE A 15-year-old Gloversville juvenile was incarcerated in the Fulton County Jail, charged Tuesday with second-degree murder in Saturday’s stabbing death of a Gloversville man. City police have released the name of the murder victim William J. Guzek, 59, of 37 E. Tenth Ave. Police said he was stabbed just before 9:30 p.m. Saturday in Gloversville and he later died of his injuries. A police news release indicates the suspect is a 15-year-old juvenile, without identifying the suspect’s gender or name. On Tuesday, members of the Gloversville Police Department Detective Division arrested the juvenile and have charged him with felony second-degree murder.

Ellis) GLOVERSVILLE A man was stabbed in a city warehouse Saturday night, later dying from his injuries, but the Gloversville Police Department this morning was being tight-lipped on identities of people allegedly involved. “It’s still a very active investigation at this time,” Gloversville police Lt. Brad Schaffer said. Schaffer said more details on the case would likely be released later today. A city police news release issued over the weekend said that shortly before 9:30 p.m. Saturday, Gloversville Police Department officers were dispatched to 37 E. Tenth Ave., on a report of a “stabbing in progress.”

Derrick H. Carlisle, 45, was sentenced by Fulton County Court Judge Polly A. Hoye to 1 2/3 to seven years in state prison. “He definitely seemed remorseful,” Fulton County District Attorney Chad Brown said this morning.
