GLOVERSVILLE – Adam W.Mitchell was arraigned in Fulton County Court Tuesday on charges of 2nd-degree murder, 1st-degree assault and 3rd-degree criminal possession of a weapon.
Mitchell, 52, of 207 N. Main St., Apt. 2A, was indicted by a Fulton County grand jury on all three charges on June 21. The arraignment took place Tuesday in front of Judge Michael Smrtic.
Mitchell was first arrested and charged in March after police said he stabbed and killed his neighbor, Joseph Robert Hoyt, 39, of 207 N. Main St., Apt 3B, on March 27.
Police officers found Hoyt dead in the hallway of 207 N. Main St, according to a news release Tuesday from Fulton County District Attorney Chad Brown. An autopsy on March 28 concluded Hoyt’s death was a homicide.

GLOVERSVILLE A second suspect from the Capital District has been charged with felony conspiracy in connection with Saturday’s stabbing death of 59-year-old Gloversville resident William J. Guzek.
The Gloversville Police Department on Thursday issued a news release indicating that Ja’Quah McCall, 19, of Albany was arrested.
McCall was charged “related” to Guzek’s homicide, police said.
Police said that shortly before 9:30 p.m. Saturday, officers were dispatched to 37 E. Tenth Ave. a warehouse where Guzek resided on a report of a “stabbing in progress.” Upon arrival, officers located and rendered lifesaving aid to the stabbing victim, Guzek, inside the large warehouse building. Other officers interviewed several bystanders and checked the building and area for potential suspects. GLOVERSVILLE A 15-year-old Gloversville juvenile was incarcerated in the Fulton County Jail, charged Tuesday with second-degree murder in Saturday’s stabbing death of a Gloversville man.
City police have released the name of the murder victim William J. Guzek, 59, of 37 E. Tenth Ave. Police said he was stabbed just before 9:30 p.m. Saturday in Gloversville and he later died of his injuries.
A police news release indicates the suspect is a 15-year-old juvenile, without identifying the suspect’s gender or name.
On Tuesday, members of the Gloversville Police Department Detective Division arrested the juvenile and have charged him with felony second-degree murder.

GLOVERSVILLE A man was stabbed in a city warehouse Saturday night, later dying from his injuries, but the Gloversville Police Department this morning was being tight-lipped on identities of people allegedly involved.
“It’s still a very active investigation at this time,” Gloversville police Lt. Brad Schaffer said.
Schaffer said more details on the case would likely be released later today.
